Established in 1972, Alpine Packaging is a family owned Women Business Enterprise with second and third generation family members working together in various capacities. Jan Lehigh is President overseeing production, while her sister Jill Grunst is Secretary/Treasurer handling all financial matters. Katie Grunst Vining is Vice President and part of the third generation along with her cousins, Chase and Chad Lehigh. Chase is responsible for all aspects of the UV Inkjet Digital Press and Chad is developing inside and outside sales opportunities with current customers and new prospects. Alpine has various capabilities in the printing and packaging market, with fourteen flexographic printing presses, a UV inkjet digital printing press with finisher, an in-house graphic team and platemaking system, and three polyethylene bottom-seal bag machines including printed bags. Our flexographic printing presses can print up to thirteen-inch-wide stock with a maximum of six ink colors, UV varnish, a turn bar for printing on both sides of the label stock, and printing on unsupported films for bottle wrap labels. All products are custom made to the customer’s requirements with the support of our Label Engineers in the Customer Service Department. Drawing on a vast array of label stocks and adhesives, we are able to guide our customers on the correct specifications ensuring the success of our labels on their products. We stock numerous adhesives including general purpose, high tack, removable, repositionable, freezer, and an ultimate adhesive. These adhesives are available on paper face stocks, vinyl, polypropylenes, polyesters and other film stocks. With the many stocks and our pantone ink library, we print labels to enhance the branding of our customers’ products which separate them from their competitors. Our UV inkjet digital printing press has opened new markets in the craft beers, wines, distilleries, air fresheners, and nutraceuticals industries just to name a few. Digital is perfect for customers who require cost effective shorter runs, printed copies for a new prototype, a reduction in the risk of obsolescence by running lower quantities, or fewer inventories on their floor; and they can expect the same quality with a smaller run as with a large order. UV inks also provide beautiful printing on many label stocks with outstanding registration and great durability for harsh environments. With the many intricate art designs today, registration and trapping are almost seamless. Vignettes or various fade levels of gradations print exceptionally well. Not only does digital printing reduce waste during set-up and production, it can manage multiple SKU’s quickly and efficiently with print on demand digital technology. We can offer variable data now that we have the digital press, where each label would have a unique number. Digital printing will continue to grow and provide the answers to many of the challenges faced in the printing industry today. Alpine has a team of graphic artists that can take a customer’s idea and provide proofs of the design, illustrating the final label. The pre-press software has allowed us to easily and efficiently prepare the artworks for flexographic printing, digital printing and bag printing. The variable barcoding, QR codes, and sequential numbering for labels are great inventory control tools and afford security on many products. Our platemaking equipment allows printing plates to be made in one hour from proof approval to finished plates, which creates efficiency in the production of our flexographic tapes and labels. Our polyethylene bag machines can convert plain and printed film into bags, sheets and sleeves. With a warehouse of FDA film ranging from 2.5” wide to pleated film that opens to 79”, Alpine can provide our customers with any length bag based on their requirements, including ½” and other fractional dimensions. Whether our customers need carton liners, drum liners, food bags, mulch bags, warehouse/industrial bags or many other type bags, our team guides the customer to the best style bag for their specific requirement. Alpine is one of the few suppliers of narrow printed poly bags, which are used for many foods including popcorn, pastas, hoagies, candy and nuts. The bags are printed on one side and can print up to three or four ink colors, as determined by the bag size. Whether a customer can only supply their concept on a piece of scratch paper or if they supply high resolution artwork, the experts on the Alpine Team with their many resources, can provide a beautiful label or printed bag to enhance a customer’s brand.
