Habithèque Inc. is a certified Women's Business Enterprise representing more than fifteen years of professional work in the field of interpretive planning and design. Victoria, Habithèque’s founder, regularly partners with organizations, firms and individuals to realize a project from concept to installation, expanding internal resources as needed to meet the specific requirements of each endeavor. Working as an independent consultant since 2007, Victoria has provided senior management and creative direction in the creation of new interpretation programs throughout the region and across the country serving the public interest at the intersection of cultural assets, storytelling and innovation. Victoria holds a Master of Arts in education (critical and creative thinking) and Master of Fine Arts in interpretive planning and design and teaches as an adjunct professor in the region. Victoria's creative integrity and seamless merging of intuitive design and critical thinking guides her exhibit planning and design work. Her current work is focused on building watershed and freshwater awareness within the general public near and far. Habithèque has been working river to river (Delaware to the Schuylkill) in Philadelphia for the past four years to help key cultural institutions situated at the water’s edge build active and aware water stewards of all ages. Thinking more like a film director than an exhibit designer and planner, Victoria creates projects with broad and powerful intentions all aimed to tap into the curious adventurer in every individual. Victoria continues to lead a diverse and wild team of makers, thinkers, doers and performers to execute creative interventions, inspirations and experiences along the water’s edge to increase public engagement with Philadelphia’s rivers while blurring the boundaries between the interior foot-print of her client’s spaces with the public sphere. Interpretive exhibits often talk about what has happened or what could happen as opposed to what is happening NOW. Victoria gets excited about the opportunities to create powerful interpretive experiences that provide relevance to the current moment — most recently, the state of our watershed and the living river— within a historical context, grounded in the power of place.
