Red Coats was established in 1960 by William and Barbara Peel. In the beginning there were only a few small accounts and William, himself, cleaned one of them himself, Peoples Drug Store. Barbara handled all of the accounting and payroll functions. Red Coats, Inc. is a complete source of Commercial Contract Cleaning Services to Commercial Office Buildings, High-rise Residential, Medical, Industrial and Special Services which include hard surface floor restoration and carpet cleaning. In 1979 Admiral Security Services was established and became a division of Red Coats, Inc.. Admiral provides professional armed, and unarmed, uniformed security officers along with a variety of other security solutions and support services. William and Barbara Peel established Admiral Security to add diversity and expand our services to the same client base as Red Coats, Inc.. In 1995 William Peel retired and Barbara Peel was elevated to the position of President of Red Coats, Inc., leaving Mr. William Peel to serve in a position on the Board of Directors. Under the direction of Mrs Barbara K. Peel, Red Coats, Inc. has expanded through acquisitions in the Washington Metropolitan Area as well as several locations in other states. Red Coats, Inc. and Admiral Security Services now operate in North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Delaware, South Carolina, California, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, making it one of the largest woman-owned security/janitorial service companies in the country
